This year, the “World’s Computer Conference 2019” was successfully held in September 2019. OpenCertHub was honored to be awarded in the “China's Top 50 Big Data Corporations”, together with the Chinese tech giants such as Huawei, Tencent, Alibaba, Baidu, Didi, etc . It is an annual award in the white paper of 2019 China’s Big Data Industry Development 2019 (2019中国大数据产业发展白皮书) which was co-run by Big Data Industry Ecological Alliance of China and CCID Consulting; to nominated top influential enterprise in Big Data fields.

While Big Data and OpenSource software has become more important in the business world, many companies are recruiting and training talents to ensure successful digital transformation. On 10 Sep 2019, OpenCertHub held the first Corporate Program, a 1-Day Workshop “Big Data Fundamental For Apache projects” to support corporations, including Bank of China (Hong Kong), Citic Telecom CPC, Kwoon Chung Bus, Lenovo, etc. to achieve the foundation knowledge of Big Data & Open Source technology.

AI and BigData are playing critical roles in innovative Technology. Many corporations are adopting these technologies to explore new opportunity. On 11 Sept 2019, #Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation MDEC have invited experts from over 25 counties to Next Big Tech Asia 2019, their largest AI & Big Data Annual Conference, which attracted over 1,000 participants around the globe. Dr. Toa Charm, Chairman of OpenCertHub was invited to this event and exchanged with CEO of MDEC, Surina Shukri and Head of Data Economy Dr. Karl Ng, on the importance of the certification platform for AI and Big #DataTalents. Besides, Dr. Toa Charm also shared our experiences on collaborating with different training institute and corporations.

Dr. Toa Charm, Chairman of #OpenCertHub, is experienced in managing traditional and #Startup companies for 25 years. During his 3 years’ service at Cyberport as the Chief Public Mission Officer, Dr. Charm managed over 1,000 Start-up companies, 3 of them even became Unicorns. On coming Friday, Dr. Charm will have a speech on the topic of “How traditional corporation deals with the rise of innovative technology”, which is an important subject for all management officer.

Development of big data and A.I. technology has become an international trend. In order to promote this game-changing technology, FDB Events organized “Big Data Business Analytics 2019” in KL, Malaysia. Many experts in big data and A.I. fields are gathered to share their views and insights of big data in business usage. Chairman of #OpenCertHub , Dr. Charm was invited as keynote speaker to kick off the 3 days #BDBA Forum, 18-20 July, 2019 to make input on Malaysia’s Big Data and AI strategy. In the past few years, Dr. Charm worked closely with MDEC and other partners to promote big data development in Malaysia. This year CEO of OpenCertHub, Andy Kwok and COO Daniel Yuen were also invited as guests in the forum.

Chairman of OpenCertHub , Dr. Toa Charm and the Management Advisory Board member of OpenCertHub, Mr.Teddy Liu, G.M. in Corporate & Talent Development and Internal Audit Head of New World Development Company were invited as panel speakers, sharing their insight on the topic “Reengineering Work in the Age of AI”.

Chairman of OpenCertHub, Dr. Toa Charm is invited as speaker in GS1-IoT Conference in sharing his expert view about the role of CPFA Certified Professionals For Apache projects as engine of AI economy as well as the importance of OpenCertHub examination and certification platform. Besides, Dr. Toa Charm also shared view on digital talent with several top-notch industry professionals in a panel discussion.

Cooperating with Cloud Education Group, subsidiary of Alpha Education which has 19 years of IT training experience in HK, we have started our 1st CPFA Certified Professionals For Apache projects (CF) tutorial course in Hong Kong. And we are glad to have the Founder and CTO of EmblocSoft, Tony Chan as our course tutor.

Francois Lee, CEO of OpenCertHub (Mainland) visited Zhongguancun Big Data Industry Alliance Talent Center in Beijing on 16 May, 2019. Francois met with representatives from China Institute of Communications, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Peking University Founder Technology College, TalkingData University, and few more universities and institutions.
